Casual Talk - The Commonwealth of the Philippines was a designation of the Philippines from 1935 to 1946 when the country was a commonwealth of the United States, which was created by the Tydings-McDuffie Act passed by the U.S. Congress in 1934. In fact, the Commonwealth government was in exile from 1942–1945, when the Philippines was under Japanese occupation. In 1946, the Commonwealth ended and the Philippines was proclaimed a republic, the Wikipedia reports.
And now, "US President Barrack Obama is entertaining a proposal of annexing Philippines back to the US," says celebrated Harvard lawyer and Top Rank Godfather Robert "Bob" Arum. "And I am excited about this meeting with Obama and Manny Pacquiao to happen because this would be instrumental in reshaping the political landscape of the Philippines."
Provocative! But, Arum is simply joking. Of course, he has that hearty laugh as he blurted out these statements. He must have known the defiant forces from the grassroots where the stronghold of nationalism has stood the test time even in the days of full scale demonstrations demanding to remove the US Military Bases, both Subic and Clark, from the mainland of the Philippines, from 1980s to early 1990s, which ended when the might of God, so they say, forced them out through the power of Mount Pinatubo eruption.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao, Sarangani congressman of the Philippines, remains excited to meet the US President.
Just to remind everyone again, the arrangement of the meeting would just be one of a "chance". Arum makes it clear it has nothing to do with anything other than a "chance-meeting of diplomacy".
Pacquiao , his wife Jinkee, and some media personalities, inclusive of the said two and a few other members of Team Pacquiao and Top Rank officials, are staying at the famous Hay-Adams, a luxury boutique hotel, which is as close as you can get to staying at the White House while waiting for a personal invitation from the President of the US.
Report has it that Arum and US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has made the arrangement of such acquiantance party at the White House, are upbeat about this rare momentous occasion.
Rest assured the Pacquiao-Obama summit will soon take place.

Give him a big hand of applause. he is the man right now. but folyde gayweather he is the man of many troubles because of his attitude, trash talking and lying accusation to manny. If we have the military capability, I would love to annex the US to the Philippines and teach americans about a diet or two. at least they eat healthier food from the Philippines.

Yes! its a very brilliant idea! Actually Philippines was part of the US in 1900. Annexing Philippines may lead to annexing Sabah, malaysia to the Philippines. Which make the Philippines tiger of Asia again.
Remember we were already bought by the US from Spainin worth of USD20,000,000. Nabayaran ba natin ang US nun? Kung isipin pa natin lugi sila. They helped the Filipinos to read and write they invested too much for infrastructures, education as well as in Health. Until now USAIDS is source of the corruption.
New century new life, new hope, no radicals, no rebellion & new racism. New nation for corruption free nation. Phillipines was surrounded by corrupt leaders, political dynasties, political economic sabotage. Hawaii was in Asia but annexed to the US. So we can do it again annex Philippines again to the US.
