Oak Creek Park is the only public park in Country Walk. The park has always been a crowded favorite spot for the locals. In the early morning runners are doing their best to stay in shape using the trail. In the evening walkers, runners, basketball players, and kids in the playground make this park a vital part of everyday life in Country Walk. As with most Miami-Dade county parks there is no official parking so visitor’s park on the easement. There are two full basketball courts, an exercise station, a trail that measures ¼ of a mile, a playground with a canopy, and one water fountain. In addition, there is a large grassy area that is often used for soccer, kite flying or even remote control planes.
The park is well maintained by the county and kept clean. The Oak trees are starting to grow in over part of the trail leaving some of it shady. Early Sunday mornings there is a boot camp style exercise class doing its best to motivate. Basketball games are played regularly every afternoon and mostly all day on weekends. There is only one down side and that is that toddlers do not have much to do. The remodeling of the playground a few years ago, added new equipment and a canopy but it left out the little ones, it is not under the age of five friendly like it used to be, and all the slides are gone.
Country Walk residents love this park as it is a great place to meet neighbors and make new friends.
