Novosbed 600-count pima sheet set

Just recently got the opportunity to work with the Novosbed people and try out their pima sheet set. We test drove the “white” coloration (or lack of color) and these linens look fresh and clean. If you are in the midst of a spring clean or seasonal overhaul—all the much better—these will be the finishing touch.

The feel or hand with these is a pleasure: smooth, crisp and cool against your skin.

The finish: 100% Long-staple American pima cotton—a type of cotton known for its long fibers. 600 Thread count: According to expert sources, thread count refers to the number of threads, both vertical and horizontal, in a one-inch square of fabric. It is affected by a number of factors, including ply and thickness of the threads used. The ply of the fabric refers to how many threads are wrapped together into a single thread.

There is a slight sheen to the sheets (no pattern).

The edges: The pillow cases and the sheet hems have a double-folded edge that means it is not going to unravel over time.

The fit: On a Queen the flat sheet is: 90 x 120-inches; fitted is 60 x 80-inches. And it fits up to a 14-inch mattress depth.

The set: The set has one flat sheet, one fitted sheet and two standard pillow cases, 20 x 30-inches. It comes in a plastic zippered case with a cardboard insert.

The care: We talked to Caitlin at the website and she found the care instructions for us: Pre-wash the sheets before using them for the first time. Wash the sheets in warm water on a delicate cycle with gentle laundry detergent. If your sheets are not too soiled, use half of the recommended amount of laundry detergent.

This will help reduce weakening of the fabric's fibers. Adding fabric softener is recommended but optional. Remove the sheets from the washer as soon as the cycle is complete. Shake the sheets out before placing them in the dryer to reduce wrinkles.

Dry sheets using a lower heat setting, on a permanent press cycle. Remove the sheets from the dryer immediately after the cycle is complete and fold immediately. We did iron our sheets the first time and this made them smoother and very cool to sleep on, so I would recommend doing that at least initially.

(By the way, they have a handy “chat” feature with operators that is really fun and informative. Don’t be afraid to try it.)

Free shipping. Queen $159. 1-year warranty
