The concept of the neighborhood coffee shop has been twisted and changed around completely by the Wal-Mart of coffee shops - Starbucks. So, do real coffee shops still exist?
If you're in the Clarendon area, then you know that Northside Social fills this void. The two-story establishment is filled with kitschy decor and a slightly urban decay-feel, but is surprisingly homey. The space has become popular with laptop-clad home officers and neighborhood regulars.
The menu doesn't disspoint either. They proudly serve CounterCulture coffees along with an array of freshly-made pastries, as well as a full cafe menu complete with sandwiches, salads and soups. Make sure to check out the artisan meats and cheeses from the wine bar as well.
