It's rare that a topical serum actually leaves skin feeling and looking tighter--even though that's what it claims it'll do. And while Fleur's Youth Origin Serum with Gold Peptides won't leave your skin as tightened as a nip and tuck, for those who really don't want to go under the knife, it's a good place to start.
Fleur's Youth Origin Serum isn't huge on moisturization, but it does soften skin while providing an instant tensing effect. It also give skin a slight brightening glow, so you wind up looking more refreshed, less tired. Is that due to the gold peptide ingredient story?
Well...while gold has been showing up over the past five to ten years in higher end skincare products and spa treatments of all sorts, the jury is out on what kind of efficacy it delivers. Fleur's Youth Origin Serum contains colloidal gold (microscopic gold particles in a fluid solution) that's listed at the tail end of the ingredient list. So it is really doing anything? I wouldn't bet the farm on it. But, the serum--the sum of its parts--does actually provide the tensing look and feel that Fleur's promotes (and quite frankly, that's enough for me).
Other ingredients include water, glycerin, sunflower seed extract, inula extract, spilanthes acmella buds, passion oil, white lupine, buckbean and vegetal complex.
Given the so-so moisturization, if your skin tends to be dry, you'll need to apply a moisturizer or moisturizing treatment formula over Youth Origin Serum. On its own, Youth Origin Serum absorbs fairly quickly and leaves skin prepped for makeup.
Fleur's Youth Origin Serum with Gold Peptides is available online and at select spas nationwide. It retails for about $85.
