Oh what a night. Talk about feeling like Queen Latifah in “Last Holiday”, this reporter experienced the magnificent cuisine of some of the “Top Chefs” TV Show and from a few of Jacksonville’s finest culinary specialists.
Captain Don Dingman (please take time to see his message), co-owner of Nippers, was also on hand to meet and greet those who donated $100 a plate to the Hook the Future Foundation. The foundation (see a clip) has a motto: “Take a kid fishing and do your part to hook the future.” Besides all the food, celebrities and live entertainment, there was a lot of money raised especially during the Silent Auction. The fundraiser was a huge success as patrons meandered throughout the spacious establishment of Nippers Beach Grille while enjoying scrumptious eatables and trying to outbid the next person.
The atmosphere of Nippers was electric during their official Grand Opening. Chef Gilbert and friends (see the first write-up) tantalized their company with the catch-of-the-day (snapper) along with other seafoods, meats, side dishes & desserts. When you go to the Slide Show, you will see how elegant the entrees were.
If you like fresh seafood straight from the ocean (and other items) this is the place to dine. There are plenty of courteous servers to get drinks, and any food item that you may desire. Nippers has been opened since the TPC SawgrassPlayers Golf weekend classic, around the beginning of May this year. They have more than 2,000 viewers on Face Book and they’re open 7 days a week for you to enjoy.
