The night of rock was almost as much fun for the people watching it inspired as the different bands all draw very different fan bases.

Detroit's own Saint Ridley opened the show with a short set of heavy metal that kick-started the crowd.

Soil was up next and are touring behind their August release Whole, which is their first release since original vocalist Ryan McCombs re-joined the band.

Their set list on Friday had a number of new songs from the album including hard-hitting opener "Loaded Gun".

Soil closed the set with McCombs heading into the crowd to perform their hit, "Halo" as they moshed around him.

Metalcore band Motionless In White were up next and were met with an enthusiastic response from those who had come just to see them and a bit of confusion from those there primarily to see All That Remains.

Their goth-drenched lyrics and appearances may have thrown off a few but eventually they began to win over a lot of the crowd who formed the evening's largest mosh pit.

Motionless In White's set was highlighted by a hard-hitting cover of Danzig's "Mother" and a fantastic live version of hit "A-M-E-R-I-C-A".

All That Remains hit the stage with a bang and closed out the evening on a high note in spite of the fact that lead vocalist, Phil Labonte, was extremely sick.

They kicked things off with a pair of songs from their latest album A War You Cannot Win: "Down Through the Ages" and their hit single "Stand Up".

Scattered throughout the set was a mix of the band's biggest hits including "This Calling", "Six" and "Hold On".

The band slowed things down with their first ballad "What If I Was Nothing?" but finished on a heavy note with "Two Weeks".
