Austin Texas was again another big melting pot for music and culture with the South by Southwest music festival taking place, an annual event, a highlight for many up and coming artists and current entertainers. A good number of music greats and legends would make their way to Austin, as they do every year to celebrate the festival, making the event a grand affair. Networking and socializing was theme of the week as it always appears, with Nice Kicks providing the platform for MTV and Sway to come out. Thanks to manager Greg DaNuPe Grovey, a 2009 graduate of Huston-Tillotson University and member of the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, the event turned out great and an uplifting affair, especially with best friend Levi Cheney being an up and coming vivid entity and CEO in the music industry.
Speaking with Levi Cheney, a.k.a Tha Lee one of the Co-CEO's of Migraine records, with Big Unc-Co-being the other CEO, from Dallas, Texas; he shared how much of a success the entire SXSW music festival had been, a great opportunity to showcase his artist D-Yo mixtape "Aggravated" and artist Fetti Haze mixtape "Slow". Listening to D-Yo and Fetti Haze, it is clear and evident that these guys know what they are doing over there at Migraine Records, with the clear sound and messages these fellows are putting out in their music. Tha Lee went on to explain how they got an overall good review on their entire presentation, a 7 out of 10, he would say, letting him know that they need to grind really hard to attain the other 30 percent. "It was a real blessing", the words of Tha Lee. Some of the individuals he would meet were Yo Gotti, Snoop Lion, TI, Mystikal, Pusha T, Trinidad James, and Kendrick Lamar. One can imagine what it must feel like to have achieved such success, feedback, and provided with such an opportunity and platform.
