During the weekend of February 15- 17, 2013, New York Couture Fashion Week was held at The New Yorker, Grand Ballroom, in New York City, NY. The weekend was filled with innovative couture fashions from various designers from all over the world, as well as fine arts, jewelry, and accessories designers. On Friday, February 15, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the following designers showcased their fall 2013 lines, Marisol Henriquez from the Dominican Republic, Ruby Johnson from Canada, Sinead Fachelli from the Dominican Republic, and Catalin Botezatu from Romania. It was an amazing evening filled with fashion, art, and performances from various performers during the couture runway show!
The venue was packed with guests at both shows, excited to view the fall 2013 couture collections as they came down the runway. Marisol Henriquez began the evening with couture fashions for both men and women. Some of the designs that graced the runway stage also included handbags to complement the outfits. Her designs for men were unique with structured cuts. Fashionable women would be ready to wear her designs to a cocktail party, happy hour, work, or a night out with the girls! The designs that graced the stage by Ruby Johsnon had a middle eastern cultural appeal. The models were styled with beautiful head pieces, barefoot with rhinestone jewelry on their feet, and other styles were included that were reminiscent of middle eastern culture.
At the 8 o’clock hour, Sinead Fachelli began the show with an amazing collection of dresses and outfits for women. Sinead Fachelli used color blocking in pants, and had surprise cuts in mid and breast section of the designs, creating a classy sex appeal in the clothing. The evening ended with Catalin Botezatu’s collection “Birds.” The concept of the entire collection for fall 2013, was very intriguing and beautiful. “Birds” ended the night on the right foot, with guests on the edge of their seats anticipating the looks as they came down the runway stage. The models brought the intended drama with the collection which included fur, feathers, and the models were styled to resemble various “Birds.” This collection was superb, complete with beading, elegance, and beautiful drapery of the designs on the models.
