My five year-old daughter is a big TMNT fan so we were psyched to receive some of the new film toys for review. We received some really cool action figures including the Combat Warrior Donatello, 11-inch Raphael, Basic Action Figure Michelangelo and Leonardo. When I first watched the trailer for the new film, it was very obvious that these Turtles have a new look. When I opened the box and saw the new action figures, I was impressed at how well they reflect this distinctive fresh look, especially the 11-inch figure. They are highly detailed, fully articulated and uniquely sculpted. In addition, each figure comes equipped with their core accessories; Raphael with his twin sais, Leonardo with his twin katana swords, Michelangelo with his nunchucks and Donatello with his bo staff.

I thought the Combat Warrior Deluxe Figures were pretty cool because you can squeeze the Turtles’ legs to trigger battle actions. With Donatello you squeeze his legs and you have some serious spinning staff action. Kids will have a blast role-playing with these action figures. The collection also includes Leonardo with quick cut katana action, and Michelangelo with triple terror twist nunchuck action and Raphael with slashing sai action.

The basic action figures collection includes Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael, as well as Splinter, The Shredder, Foot Soldier, April O'Neil and Raphael in Disguise. They vary in heights from 4.0 inches to 5.5 inches.

In addition to action figures, the new movie toy line includes the Turtle Assault Van, which is packed with ninja action features, allowing kids to drive the Turtles into their next battle and recreate their favorite scenes from the movie. The van features a spring-powered Turtle torpedo, launching luge assault vehicle, pop top hatch and side attack ramp. The control cabin holds the basic Ninja Turtles action figures. There’s also Ninja Combat Gear, so kids can transform themselves into one of their favorite heroes in a half shell from the film. The collection includes Leonardo with katana sword, bandana and two hand guards, Michelangelo with nunchuck, bandana and two hand guards, Raphael with two Sais and bandana and Donatello with bo staff and bandana.

The new movie toys are available at Target, Walmart and Toys “R” Us. Mark your calendars for August 8th. That’s when the new TMNT film hits theaters nationwide. In case you haven’t seen it yet, please click this link to view the movie trailer. It looks “Turtally” awesome!!
