Recent news reports are indicating an increased interest in guns for self-defense and new demands for shooting practice opportunities. Following this trend, a unique shooting target has been developed by a fishing lure company that gives shooters a fun and safe alternative for practice sessions.
The recent Florida Outdoor Writers Association (FOWA) meeting at River Ranch Resort included an event named the Al Hubbard Product Showcase. Think of it as a mini-ICAST. FOWA business and tourism members use the opportunity to showcase their products and destinations.
One interesting product on display was the Soft Head Action Safety Target (SAST), from Mold Craft Products of Pompano Beach, Florida. The company has long been known in the fishing lure industry as makers of high quality offshore fishing lures. They have used their knowledge and experience with their proprietary materials used in producing fishing lures to create a shooting target for practice sessions.
A major benefit of the SAST is the ease of use. All you need is a piece of ground to place it on. No need for trees or other objects to pin a paper target to. The target is 8 inches high in every position, offering a round target disk on each of four legs. One leg is always standing upright.
Shooters get immediate feed back and a new and different target after each shot, as the target jumps, spins or flips over to a new position. The resilient construction material allows shooters to blast away all day at the same target.
