I know my friends with 3 Krogers (now 4) within a 25 mile radius of our little town a new Kroger's would have to be something amazing.. I can say that I have shopped and it has some of the old things that you are used to in the other Kroger's and improvements on areas that are too crowded in the others. There is also some NEW areas and for them I will have to go and utilize when I have more time!
Located at 10101 Landing Way, it is right off 741 between Springboro and the Dayton Mall or off 75 at the Austin Landing exit. There is an issue of getting in off Miamsburg-Centerville Road, you have to watch where you get in the turn lane or you will wind up on 741 and will have to turn left at the light to get in! Then there is the parking issue. So far it has been packed every time I have been there so you may have to search for parking! I love that the Kroger Fuel Center is right there too, most of the time I do not feel like searching for a gas station after spending so much time (and money) at the grocery store!
The entrances are brightly lit with the Wright Brothers Flight theme surrounding you. Depending on which entrance you use (like with other Kroger's) is where you are in the store. Enter on the left and you will be located at the health/beauty aides and pharmacy and near by is the frozen section, enter on the right and you are at the cheese, produce section smelling the deli and little eat in area!
Let's talk frozen section for a minute. WOW is the first word that came out of my mouth when I saw the large, brightly lit frozen section. I wanted to stay in that section so I could oogle all the products but I had to move on. The cheese section is out front not tucked away as it is in other local Kroger's and that is a plus in my book. I loved the Wine area. There is actually a bar that you can sit and taste wines while your spouse shops or you need a break, gotta love that!
The aisles are very wide and signs are easy read so you can identify what is in each aisle/area. I The produce is fresh and bright with staff easy to locate if there is a question or a problem. Speaking of staff I did not find anyone that was not friendly or did not have a smile on their face, which is always welcome after a grocery trip!
For awhile yet they will have store maps available and you WILL need one at least for the first trip or two. The layout is again different than the other local stores but this design is well worth the change.
I for one will be one of the many that passes by the closer stores in order to shop at the new one for many reasons. For me I know that the wider aisles make a huge difference, knowing I can get in and out in a hurry without being caught in shopper traffic means a lot.
Go and visit the newest Kroger's and don't forget your coupons!
