New hardcore band Continents album Idle Hands is mosh pit bliss (Photos)

Victory Records has a busy year ahead and they kicked it right off with some wicked releases. One is from a band that has seen its star rise steadily since their formation in 2010; Continents.

Started by five guys in South Wales; Continents made a mark with their self-released song Trials that had over 10,000 hits on YouTube and garnered them votes as the YouTube UK Favorite Metal Act. All of this led to the band gaining a spot at Europe’s Ghostfest 2012 in Leeds playing alongside such acts as EMMURE, The Black Dahlia Murder, Defeater, and more.

These guys bring it with intensity, energy, and sound that will blister your ears and leave you asking for more. Or as the magazine KERRANG said,

“Energy-fueled epic-core with lots of aggression, a healthy blend of raw shouts and low end growls and foot stomping hooks”

They are correct. The album, Idle Hands, comes out with 224; a minute long build that gives you 20 seconds to suck in as much oxygen as you can before they bolo punch you with a wall of sound that never lets up. The title track comes right at you immediately after 224, but the band has the hooks with a groove within the madness. The hard part about listening to the album to review it was not letting myself hit the repeat button. And you will be glad that you didn’t as Pegasus, Pegasus comes at you hard and deep only to pull out and give you a melodic chorus that gives you just enough time to take a breath. The album keeps its fire with the claws deep in your skull and keep you mesmerized all the way through.

Continents will be touring all year in support of the album and making heads bounce and mosh pit circles happen everywhere along the way. They love the social media so find them on Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, whatever you prefer and say hello.

If you dig Emmure, Asking Alexandria, and the aggressive side of Killswitch Engage then this band will blow you away. Go get it and knock the walls down!

Continents are:

Phil Cross - Vocals
Darryl Sweet - Guitar
Tom Weaver - Guitar
Dom Turner - Bass Guitar
Duncan "Ken" Hamill – Drums
