Mattel really knows dolls! Not only are they the makers of one of the most popular fashion dolls around (of course I’m talking about Barbie), but they are also the maker of another hot doll line called Monster High. The kids of Monster High are daughters and sons of famous monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Werewolf, The Mummy and more. Their motto is Be Yourself. Be Unique. Be a Monster.

My five year old is obsessed with the ghoulishly cool girls from Monster High such as Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo de Nile, Frankie Stein, Lagoona Blue, and Spectra Vondergeist (there are so many cool ones to name them all!). On March 25th a new Monster High will be released called Frights, Camera, Action! and along with the new movie come new dolls and play sets based on the movie.

My daughter was super excited when she received some of the new dolls from Frights, Camera, Action! to review. The line includes fan favorites such as Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Lagoona Blue and Cleo de Nile as well as new characters including Honey Swamp, Elissabat, Clawdia Wolf and Viperine Gorgon. New sets include the Premiere Party, which provides the backdrop for playing out boovie events and the Dressing Room where a monster is turned into a “mon-star.”

We received Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf and Elissabat. The girls from Frights, Camera, Action! are ready for the Hauntlywood Black Carpet Premiere and they are looking fabulous. Draculaura is wearing a boo-tiful printed dress with a shimmery pink skirt accent and tulle ruffled sleeves, a spider-shaped belt, wicked black earrings and necklace, mouth-watering evening bag and fang-tastic pink heels. Her hair is black with a swirl pink in the front.

Clawdeen Wolf is ready for the premiere in a clawesome purple and black printed dress with bright pink ruffles that match her moon-shaped handbag. She wears a fashionable golden belt, ear clip and wild cutout ankle boots to accessorize her gore-geous outfit.

Elissabat is one of the new characters and she is a teen vampire and an enchanting actress. I really love her look probably because purple and back are two of my favorite colors! Elissabat is a pretty doll with purple and black hair and she wears a to-die-for purple and black dress with a corseted bodice, ruffled skirt and tall black boots. She also comes with her most recent DVD and a clawesome award that she received for her riveting performance. All Monster High dolls also come with a signature-style brush, doll stand, and diary.

We didn't receive Honey Swamp but I saw her in Target recently and I just have to mention how totally cool she looks. Her hair is awesome! I love her big head of tight curls in shades of blue. Honey Swamp is the daughter of the Honey Island Swamp Monster and she was born and raised in New Goreleans, she is a true Southern ghoul. She is an aspiring cinema-togre-pher and comes with a video camera and claw-toothed clapboard — that actually opens and closes. She wears a pink floral printed dress with shredded hem, pink belt, high-“scaled” shoes, and a cute tiny pink hat.

My daughter and I have been having a blast playing with the new dolls. The Monster High line is just so well designed and so creative from the hair to the clothes to the accessories right down to the name of the doll. We can’t wait for the new movie to come out!
