Curly Putman "Write 'em Sad - Sing 'em Lonesome"

Nashville is home to some of the greatest songwriters in music. The art of songwriting is something that comes natural to many of them. Since 1963, Curly Putman has been leaving his mark on many of the classic songs that come out of this town. "My Elusive Dreams", "Green, Green Grass of Home", "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "War Is Hell On The Homefront" are just a few of the number ones that have been written with his masterful pen.

Putman released two albums in the '60s, "Lonesome Country" and "World Of Country Music". The material on the albums had a decent amount of airplay, but Putman decided to focus on the writing part of the music. For the next few decades, Putman continued to rise to the top of the charts time and time again as the writer of many of today's classic country songs. A few years ago, Putman began to get the itch to record as an artist again. After more than forty years, Putman has released a new album that contains many of his classic songs and a few new ones.

Putman's new album, "Write 'em Sad - Sing 'em Lonesome" puts a modern touch to his hall of fame penmanship. Putman's voice is one of wisdom and truth. There is a sense of pain and love in every word that he sings and ever line that he has written. From "Wino the Clown", a song about a widower who has lost his wife and finds solace in the bottle; to "Green, Green Grass Of Home", a tune about a man who is on death row and is dreaming about a better life. The musicianship on Putman's record speaks for itself. The rhythm section consists of the heart of Nashville's Studio A-Team, Eddie Bayers, Glenn Worf, Eric Darken, John Jarvis, Pat McGrath, Mike Rojas and Glen Duncan. The album also features the remarkable steel guitar playing of Mike Johnson and the warm electric guitar tones of James Mitchell.

As an added plus, the record features three duets. Dolly Parton joins Putman on his classic tune "Made For Loving You". In addition, Deborah Allen is featured on "Only Oklahoma Away" and Sarah Johns is featured on "My Elusive Dreams".

The record can be found on iTunes, and CDBaby. Many stores in the Lebanon, TN area are also selling Putman's record.
