Neon Trees, Owl City light up The Palace

What a great Valentine's Day at The Palace of Auburn Hills! Neon Trees and Owl City stopped at the venue on their tour with Maroon 5 to make it a great couples' or singles' night out.

The last few years have been huge for Neon Trees. Their 2010 hit “Animal” is still one of the band’s most popular tunes, going hand-in-hand with their first single “Everybody Talks” off new album “Picture Show.”

Singer Tylen Glenn is one of alt-pop’s most unique and entertaining live performers. He’s got some Michael Jackson-esque dance moves including an “up on the toes” move not unlike that of a ballerina (just more rockstar-like - see a picture here).

Not many could pull off his impeccable sense of fashion either. Dressed in a blue glittery outfit from head to toe, he was as confident as can be and seemed to have sheer confidence in his on-stage presence.

Simply put, he is a rockstar.

Owl City hit it big with chart-topping single “Fireflies” in 2009 and just last year collaborated with Carly Rae Jepsen for what has become an incredibly popular tune called “Good Time.”

Owl City’s Adam Young is also a fantastic and incredibly energetic performer. After seeing him in concert prior to this night I realized that he tends to stand near his mic stand for the duration of his set, however on Maroon 5’s M-shaped stage he seemed to feel the need to expand his performing area, something that definitely pleased fans and made the show more exciting.

Unfortunately Maroon 5 did not allow anyone but the house photographer to take photos.
