Cultures. IMAGINE LIVING IN A PLACE WHERE THE SUN NEVER SETS DURING A PART OF THE YEAR! Sometimes the sun shines all night and day in Norway - And during the other part of the year you will not believe what is made from ice and snow. What do you think is the most practical way that people who live here get around? Guess what a skole is. Learn about how people here talk and live. What are some of the similar ways of life that you might have with the people who live in Norway. Author, Carole P. Roman explores many of the different cultures that people around the world live in and helps children to learn about them. She has a delightful way of letting her young readers know about what words children might use from other cultures or what might be their favorite things to do which are sometimes similar and sometimes different from the readers own culture. She is a former teacher and uses her experience in a way in which touches upon the very things that young children are interested in to broaden their understanding of the people in the world around them. After all, everybody's home life is not exactly the same because we come from many different cultures in the United States of America. Her series makes a nice contribution to any prek to age eight classroom library.
