We received a Curl Secret™ machine from the Conair people (Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®) to test and we like it and are amazed at its operation. How it works: You take a strand of hair—about an inch wide—and lay it in the middle and inside of the unit’s hair guide (it’s like a small trough); I call it the “secret ball”. The hair will be sucked up into the ball, wrapped around the roller chamber (yes, this is layman’s speak), and heated.
After a beep or two or three, open the chamber and a curl will fall out.
"...I call it the “secret ball”."
At first it is surprising, but once you’ve threaded a full head of hair through the machine and get how it works, you will feel more confident.|
With each additional usage you will section and prepare the hair faster until it moves rather well speed-wise—and the curls are as tight as you prefer.
Here are some suggestions:
* Try to use clean hair without too much product in it
* Make certain the unit is fully heated (the red light will stop blinking)
* Make sure that the sections of hair you pick out are not too large
* Don’t be afraid to use the higher settings
We like the amount of curl you can achieve and, after using it for a week, got a large number of complements from a variety of peoples—so we feel we look pretty good.
It does have a safety element in that it will automatically shut-off if you’ve used too much hair or held it incorrectly. It’s not as heavy as it looks and all you need do it make sure the printed side is closest to your head. That’s it! You can thread long hair leaving about an inch away from your scalp but we like the kind of beachy look where hair falls flat, then into a loose sexy type of curl that’s so popular today.
