Naked sushi reviewed at Hiro 88

It was a chilly and frozen Omaha night, but there was plenty of heat inside Hiro 88.  Why, because not even a winter storm warning could keep the many excited and eager sushi fans away from their first naked sushi experience.  “The turnout was a success,” said D.j. Shire from Omaha Night Life, who was very pleased with the response to the event and was excited to provide such a unique experience in Omaha. 

The rules of the night were simple, do not eat the food off the model, and keep your conversation with the model to a minimum.  Known as Nyotaimori, which is a Japanese practice of presenting food on the female body.  Traditionally, guests eat the sushi from the model; however, this would be acceptable for a smaller group or an intimate private party.  This experience worked great and was thanks in part to the lovely model, Missy Moyle.  The local beauty was on hand to provide the canvas for the event and handled the pressure very well.  When asked if Missy found the sushi to be too cold she replied, “It was at first, but then you get use to it”.  The sushi artfully plated on Missy, was available to view for just over an hour while service staff delivered other plates of sushi to the guests.

The crowd that night was an educated sushi crowd with ties to seemingly everyone in the room.  The evening felt like an episode of Cheers, where everyone knew your name and because of that, it made for a very cheerful place.

Judging by the reaction from the guests and the staff, one would hope Omaha Night Life and Hiro 88 will continue to team together for future events.  Already, whispers of another naked sushi event are in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for that information.  This type of event does not come around often, so take the chance and you will be glad you were part of it.
