Bright Blessings of the Day to you.
There is a little shop in Madison Heights, located on the areaof John R. and 12 Mile Roads, Mystic Moon Llc that has been serving the magickal and mystical community around it for quite some time now. Stock from floor to ceiling with yummy occult goodness, this is the place that puts the mmmmm in Madison Heights for local energy workers , witches, and magickians.
Today I will be reviewing two of my favorite products from their store, their Anointing and Ginger Grass oils. In the spirit of full disclosure, let me state here that I received the Anointing oil free charge as a donation for the Great Lakes Witchs Council event Warrior Ritual and collection date for for donations to Pagan Armed Service Person's Solstice Project. The Ginger Grass was paid for out of my own funds.
First, the Anointing oil. A perfect blend of essential oils and stones, this product has a pleasant scent. The consistency is such that it is perfectly suited to the roller topped vial in which it is packaged. The product served very well during the preparation for the ritual itself, and it was very easy to charge as needed. After a month, it has regained its scent and consistency.
Next up is the Ginger Grass oil. Now this oil is not really well known as a common product in many stores in the Southeastern Michigan Pagan businesses that this writer has frequented. Purchased initially as a curiosity, it has proven to be a valued addition to the magickal supply areas of my home. Its scent is surprisingly crisp and citrusy, while holding onto blast of ginger overriding the subtle notes of herbal melody.
For those familiar with Ayurvedic practices, this cousin to lemongrass falls in your radar because
"... Gingergrass and its extracts, including its essential oil is a time-honored ingredient of numerous Ayurvedic formulations prescribed for the treatment of inflammation, sinusitis, allergies, joint pain, muscular aches, sore throat, depression, loss of libido, dermatitis, acne, cough, common cold and certain other health disorders"
Those who practice making Hoodoo blends at home may recognize this oil as one of the common ingredients in many Van Van blends. While not all Van Van oils are a blend, many are. Learn more about Van Van and its uses here in the New World Witchery Blog Post 81. You may also enjoy the podcast the post refers to here.
Both products held a charging wonderfully. Priced at $12.00 and $4.00, these are very modestly priced. Definitely a good buy for a great pair of products. Highly recommended.
