Mulderbosch winery, located in the South African region of Stellenbosch was founded in 1989. Since it’s founding its goal was to make high quality wines, but not sacrifice the land where the wines grow. Mulderbosch has since undergone several ownership and wine maker changes, but has never lost its focus on creating great wines.
Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, Coastal Region, South Africa, 2013 is a great example of their commitment to quality. Most rosé wines are made from grapes that don’t make the cut for the best wines from certain vintners. Mulderbosch has planted a plot of Cabernet Sauvignon vines used for their rosé. These grape are picked early to preserve their acidity. The color is a dark pink salmon color. The nose is filled with aromas of orange, blood orange, peach and minerals. The palate explodes with flavors of blood orange, peaches and Granny Smith apples with crisp medium finish filled with minerals. This wine tastes of springtime.
The Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé is a great aperitif wine or with cured meats or creamy cheeses. Make sure to stock up so your spring is filled with a great wine for the season.
