Hunter is a man with a mission to kill zombies. Created by a new street drug, junkies are turning into zombies at an alarming rate. With a car full of guns and booze Hunter crosses the wasteland eliminating as many of the flesh chewers as he can find.

Martin Copping (Hunter), Danny Trejo (Jesus), Clare Niederpruem (Alison), Jade Regier (Debbie), Terry Guthrie (Jerry), Michael Monasterio (Casanova), Jarrod Phillips (Bill), Marianne Smith (Daisy), Jake Suazo (Lyle).

Zombie Hunter begins with a little bit of backstory while presenting itself as a strange, esoteric film along the lines of GrindHouse. Character development is thin and more than a little challenging to accept through much of the film. At the same time the plot is thin enough it isn't hard to follow, including the strange distractions apparently intended to add depth. Despite adding a worn out nymphomaniac stripper, the film drags and feels unfocused enough of the time that interest is easily lost.

Acting was almost laughable in much of this one. Copping doesn't feel at all like a rough and tumble zombie killer. While Trejo probably could have take a lead role in this one, his appearance is really just a long cameo. Regier seems to have been added to keep things interesting but comes across as so worn out she couldn't pull it off.

Camera work was decent with fewer rough spots than expected. Sets and backgrounds felt somewhat cheap and convenient more than intentional. Zombie effects were okay and nicely varied and physical stunts were fairly well done. Dialogue felt out of character at times, campy at other times. Sound and soundtrack were both unexciting.

Overall Zombie Hunter is more of a snooze than anything else. The film just plods along, never really developing good energy or even making much of a statement about anything. While it may appeal to die-hard zombie fans, it could quite possibly bore them into becoming zombies themselves.

With plenty of gore, violence, foul language, and some sexuality, this should be fine for older teens and above.
