Hoping to make some easy money, Zack and Miri decide to make a porn film. While working on the project however, their feelings for each other become apparent and begin to threaten the film.

Elizabeth Banks (Miri), Seth Rogen (Zack), Craig Robinson (Delaney), Gerry Bednob (Mr. Surya), Jennifer Smith (Betsy), Kenny Hotz (Zack II), Brandon Routh (Bobby Long), Anne Wade (Roxanne), Justin Long (Brandon), Tom Savini (Jenkins).

Zack and Miri Make a Porno begins by presenting the current relationship between Zack and Miri. As the story progresses, along with character development, the cast is expanded and the storyline becomes obvious. Zack and Miri have feelings for each other. This puts a bit of a twist on filming a porn film together, at which point the film turns into a teenage love story. It also brings more crotch humor and a more adult perspective.

Acting was decent actually, with Banks and Rogen playing together well. (Though we couldn't figure out why). Banks delivered some good emotion while Rogen, though his technical delivery is good, still feels fake. Robinson was a fun, silly addition as was Routh. The remainder of the supporting cast did pretty well.

Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were all good and the film apparently had a reasonable budget. Physical effects were fun and fitting. Dialogue was campy, corny, and even romantic at times. Sound and soundtrack were both well done.

In the end (no pun intended), Zack and Miri Make a Porno was a silly, light film that hoped to be more. Rogen or Banks fans may enjoy this one quite a bit. The film may also offend the delicate sensibilities of some. The rest of us will just wonder why we watched a romance with bad porn style nudity.

With foul language, graphic nudity, and crude sexual content, limit this one to the oldest teens and above.
