Arriving at a carnival in hell run by the devil, three lost souls must confront the since they have committed during their lives.

Sean Patrick Flanery (John), Emilie Autumn (Painted Doll), Shem Byron (Hellharmonic Musician), Dayton Callie (Ticket-Keeper), Shawn Crahan (The Tamer), Beach Eastwood (Zonbie clown), Marc Senter (Scorpion), Terrance Zdunich (Lucifer).

The Devil's Carnival begins with some backstory and character development, if you can call it that. Though there is a plot, the disjointed warped musical theme made it a bit challenging to follow. As the story progresses things just get stranger. And when you didn’t think they could get any weirder, they did. Amazingly the film wraps up with a solid ending that explains most of the rest of the film. The parts it doesn't… just enjoy them as part of this surrealistic ride into The Devil's Carnival.

Acting was as unusual yet entertaining as the rest of the film. While Flanery did nicely in the most normal role in the film, the remainder of the cast was as disturbingly unusual as the film itself. Though somewhat devoid of emotion, the cast presented well adding to the macabre feel of the film.

Camera work was good but could have been better at times, though I'm sure at the same time it was a challenge with the variety of sets and costuming. Sets, backgrounds, and costuming were all incredibly well done and really helped make the film. Dialogue and musical portions of the film were good, as was sound and soundtrack.

Overall The Devil's Carnival is a very unusual musical horror with a definitive dark side and obviously warped sense of humor. Those who enjoy unique and challenging films will enjoy this the most. Those who enjoy mainstream productions regularly will probably have a strong dislike of this film.

With some disturbing content save this one for teens and above.
