Scary Movie 5 makes fun of the horror genre and specifically movies such as Black Swan, Inception, and The Hunger Games. With an all-star cast the film pokes some hard fun at some of the more popular horror titles.

Ashley Tisdale (Jody), Simon Rex (Dan), Snoop Dogg (Ja' Marcus), Darrell Hammond (Dr. Hall), Erica Ash (Kendra), Molly Shannon (Heather), Marisa Saks (Amy), Terry Crews (Martin), Bow Wow (Eric), Charlie Sheen (Himself), Lindsay Lohan (Herself), Heather Locklear (Barbara), Katt Williams (Blaine).

Scary MoVie 5 starts off silly, as have the rest. From there this one delves a bit deeper into the crotch humor and raunchy comedy as it takes aim at just about every popular horror movie to come out in the past few years. Scary? Not at all. But it isn't supposed to be either. Just a lot of good, dirty, fun. The takes a hard focus on Paranormal Activity and Rex, depending on both to make the film. Forget the plot, and the happy or even unhappy ending.

Acting was decent if a bit stiff at times. As mentioned, this was a big bet on Rex who actually pulls it off pretty well. The stuffed animal bedroom scene was absolutely hysterical. Tisdale did okay, and Snoop presented his usual. The remainder of the supporting cast was decent for the most part.

Camera work, sets, and backgrounds were all okay and about what we have come to expect from this franchise. Effects were decent but mild throughout. Dialogue was good with some nice funny lines and plays on lines from other films. Sound and soundtrack were both good.

Overall Scary MoVie 5 is a nice break from the horror scene with some good laughs. Fans of the franchise will likely enjoy this despite the theme becoming a bit worn. Those new to the series will either hate it or love it.

With plenty of crude and sexual content, foul language, mild drug use, partial nudity, comic violence and gore this should be fine for older teens and above.

Scary MoVie 5 is no longer showing in any Littleton, Colorado movie theatre.
