Dexter is a police forensics expert specializing in blood spatters. He is also a cold blooded serial killer with an interesting code of conduct that has him convinced he is cleaning up the world. In Season 3 of the series Dexter must confront his code of conduct when he accidentally kills someone and is discovered as the murderer while at the same time dealing with the prospect of becoming a father.
Michael Hall (Dexter), Jennifer Carpenter (Debra), Lauren Velez (Lt. Laguerta), C.S. Lee (Masuka), David Zayas (Batista), Julie Benz (Rita), Jimmy Smits (Miguel), James Remar (Harry).
Continuing in the series, this season we find Dexter has been found out by someone who wants to become his partner, feeding Dexter potential victims. At the same time Dexter struggles with his lack of emotion around his pending marriage to Rita and his role as new father to her children. With the drama well underway the blood and tension return about halfway through the season and things continue nicely as the series plots and prepares for the next season. This season it was nice to see not only the chinks in Dexter's armor, but to watch the character grow and mature.
Acting continues to be enjoyable from Hall, Carpenter, Velez, Lee, Zayas, Benz, and Remar. Smits was a nice addition to the cast and although is appearance was short lived, he brought a nice dimension to the show for a while.
Camera work, sets, and backgrounds continue to be nicely done with good attention to detail and a fit with the storyline. Action scenes were simple but nicely done and again, fit the film well. Dialogue and sound continue to be nicely done, as did the soundtrack.
Overall Dexter: Season 3 continues with the story we have come to enjoy, the characters we now know well, and the quality we expect. Series fans may find this season a bit light on blood but heavy on drama.
With violence, blood, foul language, nudity, and sexuality save this for adults and above.
Dexter: Season 3 is not showing in any Littleton Colorado movie theatres.
