"Even a Disney "King" may give up the box office throne for this topical musical, full of heart and soul. "Matilda" is sick, really Really Sick, and you'll love it!" BroadwayGlobal.
The breaking box office records London musical inspired by Roald Dahl, with book by Dennis Kelly, and Music/Lyrics by Tim Minchin, "Matilda" has set its' magic on Broadway.

Matilda's mother Mrs. Wormwood played by "BroadwayGlobal sexiest", Laurence Olivier Award winning Lesli Margherita ("Zorro") is a huge audience favorite. You have all seen Lesli on TV in Fame L.A., N.Y.P.D. Blue, Charmed, just to name a few. Now Margherita hits Broadway with lightning force. Lesli's over the top character Mrs. Wormwood combines Dancing with the Stars, married with children - Bundy meets "Annie's" Mrs Hannigan. Lesli (Mrs. Wormwood) is sure to get a Tony Award nomination and may just win, not just with her dance moves of over the back, splits and lifts that wow the audience. Lesli singing "Loud" is just one of the highlights of the new smash hit musical. This born to dance mother is not happy when she is surprised with a girl named "Matilda".
Matilda's father Gabriel Ebert as Mr. Wormwood may be even more surprised as he refuses to call "Matilda" anything but son. But, the real surprise is in Bertie Carvel as Miss Trunchbill, a cynical principal out to destroy Matilda's love for reading. Matilda's Carvel and "Kinky Boot"' Billy Porter could be neck and neck or boot to "Kinky Boots" when it comes to sweeping the Tony Awards this season. Bertie Carvel gives more laughs than ever seen before. The Miss Trunchbill character created by Bertie Carvel has the down right mean motherly principal instincts that are delightfully distasteful, but deliciously appealing to the ever laughing hysterically audience. "So we do all come from dysfunctional families. "Matilda" is a magical dysfunctional delight!" BroadwayGlobal.
