Morning Hands: 'Natures Gestures' (2012)

"Natures Gestures" by Morning Hands is a duo comprised of Douglas Du Fresne (of Diesel Dudes) and Patrick Tabor (of Tabor Mountain). Together they make sonically full Pop music.

Songs like "Swamp" are lush electronic pieces, comprised of multiple synth lines and catchy, hook driven instrumentals that are vaguely reminiscent of "MGMT'. The vocals are often punchy, and demonstrate a sound common in synth pop pieces, similar to vocal styles most commonly championed in the Pop music of the 80's, a revivalist trend that has been picking up momentum lately.

The third track (entitled: 'Mountains') really sounds nothing like this, but it made me think of The Proclaimers song "I Would Walk 500 Miles". If anything I draw the reference just from it's quirky 80's sounding style, vocal layering techniques, theme / lyric, and general spirit of the song.

"Natures Gestures" by Morning Hands is available via their Bandcamp page.
