Monkey Jungle is one of the most unique places to go in Florida. If you like Monkeys this is the place for you. The concept is definitely out of the box as you are in a cage and the monkeys are free. It started in 1933 with six monkeys, today there are about 400 on the 30 acre reserve featuring 30 species. In addition, there are a large number of birds on exhibit.
There is one small café, several bathrooms and vending machines. Make sure you get a schedule when you pay admission as there are many shows that are definitely worth seeing. If you are pressed for time or have restless children you do not have to see the shows; skip them and you can do the park in about one to two hours. Bring plenty of quarters (for fish and monkey food), and make sure you buy several boxes of monkey food when you pay admission. This place is all about feeding monkeys. There are little cups all over the park and when you put food in them the monkeys will pull it up and eat it, if you get cheap and put one raisin they don’t even bother (so again buy a couple of boxes). This is so unique kids love it and it is a place you should visit at least once. There is one down side; it is on the pricey side. Entrance at the park is currently for adults: $29.95 and children (3 - 9): $23.95 tax not included but on the plus side parking is free.
