I was indeed inspired by the innovations designed to engage and connect boomers and seniors in their everyday lives at the Silvers Summit. I learned that falls are a major risk for elderly people living independently. The US Department of Health and Services states that 70 percent of all accidental deaths in the elderly population comes from a fall. Fall Detection technology is based on floor vibration and sound sensing plus uses signal processing and pattern recognition algorithm to determine between a fall event and other events. The Fall Detection technology is unique, reliable and does not require the person to wear anything. MobileHelp has designed myHalo Auto Fall Detect pendant which alerts a central monitoring station. The user does not have to push a button because the pendant uses an algorithm which indicate if the user has fallen.

In order to allow a User to use the pendant indoor and outdoor mobile and wireless technologies are being used. The mobile module incorporates GSM/GPRS together with stack TCP/IP to send data (activity monitoring and alarm) between the mobile module and the call centre. For user localization, the system incorporates a GPS receiver.

In addition, a daily activity report is sent to the call centre for medical monitoring. And just in case of alarm is triggered due to a fall or abnormal activity, an alarm message is sent to the call centre with all information required to deal with the emergency. The user has the option to cancel or to set manually an alarm, and the call centre offers the possibility to retrieve position or activity report at any time.

Now the cellular base station is the easiest to install system on the market by just simply plugging in the power cord. The cellular base station is wireless device and a simple press of the button sends an alarm to a 24-hour emergency call center. The operator has accesses the user's medical history and their emergency contacts. The cellular base station integrates with the MobileHelp's pendant, and wrist button, myHalo Auto Fall Detect Pendant. MobileHelp introduced the first medical alert system with fall detection technology and with no landline phone.

MobileHelp is based in Boca Raton, Florida and services clients in all 50 states. MobileHelp develops and distributes the first fully integrated medical alert system with GSM/GPS technology, an alert solution for people without home telephone lines and a traditional Medical Alert System. MobileHelp's M-PERS devices are integrated with nationwide wireless voice and data and GPS technology to provide real-time medical monitoring services and location tracking for expedited personal emergency assistance.

These MobileHelp devices help keep social security, health costs down and improves the quality of life for people and to encourage elderly to stay living autonomously in their own homes as long as possible.
