Groveland Gallery’s current exhibitions display lasting form and perspective through paintings, drawings and photography in Minnesota landscape. “Scene in Minnesota” showcases six established artists focused on realistic and representational Midwestern images to celebrate Minnesota. “New Work” by Fred Anderson in the Groveland Annex captivates with every brushstroke for complete momentary images where character permeates every painting.

“Scene in Minnesota” presents elements of landscape with comprehensive craft through artistic movements for contemporary eminence. Dan Bruggeman’s bold fictional illustrations and drawings celebrate landscape through symbolism as science and mixed media collaborate in art. Larry Hofmann’s representations convey solicitous elements through photography as a medium for capturing trees’ oasis character and natural endurance in sepia, greens and bright tones. Tom Maakestad’s abstract post-impressionism presents elements of shape and light in graphic-like landscape illustrations with reminiscent realism for contemporary distinction. Mark Horton’s representational images capture urban Twin Cities’ character when walking to historic architecture only steps away. Rod Massey’s realistic impressions astonish the viewer with every essential brushstroke to revere character of older neighborhoods to acquaint particularity. Meg Ojala’s photographs display spoken happenings within prairie images with hints of reds and wild flowers to showcase existence of nature, accumulation and beauty within each circumstance.

“New Work” by Fred Anderson illustrates interior and exterior vistas with realistic detail to capture moments beyond the medium and astonish recognizable experience in each representation.

“Scene in Minnesota” and “New Work” are on display at the Groveland Gallery through January 19, 2013.
