I was invited by a friend to have dinner at a new-to-me restaurant last week, Mia Cucina. She went ahead and checked to see if they could accommodate the gluten-free diet for me and I was pleased to hear they could. In addition to there being many choices on the menu, they also have gluten-free pasta.
Upon sitting down and browsing the menu, I was told that all of the salad dressings are gluten-free and most other dishes could be modified. To be honest, I had a hard time making up my mind! There were so many choices, which is never a bad thing when following the gluten-free diet. I have had plenty of experiences where I had only 1 or 2 choices. I finally settled on the Angel Hair Pomodoro, but the angel hair pasta would be replaced with gluten-free penne pasta. The dish had grilled chicken, fresh garlic, basil and juicy tomatoes tossed with gluten-free pasta.
I was very impressed with my meal and definitely plan on returning to Mia Cucina. After speaking with the manager on duty, I learned that they are working on getting gluten-free pizza on the menu in the near future.
