Just like many other popular destinations within Atlantic Station, the Nail Talk & Spa, 19th Street location, is a hot spot on an early Saturday evening and a merely fizzed pop on a weekday opening. A personal visit around six pm on an expected celebrity sighting date (Eva Marcelle of America’s Next Top Model past was promoting a next day event at nearby Pinkheart) proved to be nothing short of hectic confusion for both staff and customers. My suggestion? Skip the popular weekend walk- in madness and instead opt for a ten thirty morning appointment.
For this visit, I chose a Thursday and was quite pleased with the results. A greeting was well received and services were almost completed before I had ultimately decided on nail polish. I had taken notice of the pedicure bowls shaped like massive flowers. A cute touch. The sun was shining, the air was cooled and I was immediately inspired by a soft lime. A pretty pale pink struck a spring chord. Thoughts of delicate little blooms atop fresh cut grass scents.
If a soft lime green doesn’t agree with your complexion, try a deep but bright shade. The essence will be similar and jeweled neons are expected to trend nicely this season. When it comes to the pink, be very picky. Most salons carry a heavier inventory of reds and pinks. Go as light as possible, but stay opaque and keep away from transparents as the look will change dramatically.
After drying nails completely be sure to take advantage of applying an extra coat of lotion to your hands. Bottles were available for use at the drying station, but just be careful to select a bottle of moisturizer that doesn’t require rinse off. Grab a peppermint from the bowl for a quick pick me up. You’re at Atlantic Station, home to Pinkheart Accessories. It’s a perfect time to wardrobe those newly minted nails.
Speaking of mint, you could look for a ring with hues of green that compliment, like spearmint or jade tones. Go for exact matches and pieces with understated and eccentric elements. When it comes to pinks, the sky is the limit. Try layering chunky bracelets and dazzling bangles. And if your budget allows, spring for a sleek clutch.
