Fashion designer Gary Graham revealed his Spring Ready-To-Wear 2014 collection to kick off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, which officially begins tomorrow. Known for his hopeless romantic and medieval styles, Graham stayed true to his inspiration by creating a new take on My Antonia and Willa Cather, both of which the designer stated he found himself drawn to while designing this collection. The medieval inspiration was a big presence throughout all the pieces, and it was strategically paired with a strong femenine style. This combination made for a very successful collection, complete with pieces for every day wear, and especially for the stylish working woman.
The Spring collection displayed great suit seperates, boasting slim fitting slacks, cropped bolero jackets, and even a standout patchwork biker jacket. Seperates also included apron like tops and dresses, as well as beautiful pleated sheer skirts. These pieces make for great workplace outfits, as well as lunch dates or business meetings. They give off a strong, independent woman vibe, but still display the softness needed for just the right touch of femeninity.
The dresses of the collection were extremely elegant and modern. The soft colors ranged from nudes, blush, and cream to bold navy and classic black. There was an occasional damask print that gave more dimension to the collection. Although the collection is fairly dark, the pieces make for amazing Spring/Summer staples.
