May not have it your way at Burger King

Coming in to the Burger King at 3840 W. Happy Valley Road in Glendale, you are greeted with the familiar smells of fast food grease and cooked meat that surround any sort of fast food restaurant (that sells hamburgers). Expectations are low for this sort of an establishment; however, the restaurant is neat and tidy upon first glance. Modern looking flat-screen televisions next to the menu show different pictures of menu items. A large flat screen television is at the back of the restaurant as well, always on CNN.

At this visit, it appeared that the store was short staffed. The front counter person was expediting orders for both drive-thru and front counter along with attempting to take orders at the front cash register. This seemed to make wait times for both placing orders and getting food particularly long for a fast food restaurant. Many patrons seemed annoyed.

The Whopper Jr. was slathered in mayonnaise but otherwise tasted fine, but the burger was a little cold. The French fries were hot and salty. The front counter person had to go into the back to get the Hershey pie that was ordered because they forgot to stock enough up front. The front counter person never said thank you or apologized for taking so long to get the order together.

A subsequent visit to this establishment was a completely different experience—the front register person was friendly and talkative and there was someone there just to expedite food. Service was quick and the food tasted perfect.

Every restaurant is entitled to a bad day. This Burger King is recommended with the caveat of knowing that service at this establishment is not consistent.
