Award-winning Christian music singer-songwriter Matthew West wrote his book "Forgiveness: Overcoming The Impossible." It was published in Nashville, Tennessee, by Thomas Nelson. More information on the book can be obtained by clicking here.
It is a powerful account of various stories about forgiveness. I love how West incorporates himself into this book's introduction and talks about how hard forgiveness may be, even when he and his brother would disagree when they were younger. He shares the story behind his song "Forgiveness," inspired by a woman Renee who had lost her daughter, and how it served as a foundation for this book.
He includes several of his song lyrics throughout the book, as well as some moving quotes from scriptures.
One of my favorite parts of the book was when he revealed to the reader what the best day of his life was, where contrary to what people may think, it was not the day of his wedding (to his loving wife Emily), nor the two days in his life that he became a father to his two girls, even though those three moments were incredible to him. Without giving too much away, one ought to read "Forgiveness: Overcoming The Impossible."
By the time this book is over, the reader will come across a wide spectrum of emotions: tears, laughter, smiles for joy and will subsequently be presented with some vivid and potent examples of forgiveness. Matthew West has always been an exceptional storyteller, musician and songwriter and this book is an absolute gem. It is extremely well-written and it is recommended for anybody who wants to learn more about the power of forgiveness. It garners 5 out of 5 stars.
