Matt Klose is a dynamo.
Let me explain.
Matt got some of the most talented independent musicians in St. Louis all on one bill with flawless presentation. First we had Defeated County whose melancholy folkish sound was a good warm up to the night. They started the show off in true big band fashion with all six of them making tunes from all over the Plush stage.
Next we had Les Gruff and the Billy Goat, who revved up the engine a little with some fast paced music that was reminiscent of 'Devil Went Down to Georgia' for the un-intiated. Billy Croghan is the driving force behind this project.
Not to be outdone was the dynamic Psychedelic Psychonauts, led by bassist-front man Dr. Dan the Pancake Man. This band is rounded out by Shawn Moses on lead guitar (a phenomenal player) and Dave Ederer on drums. They moved the crowd to their feet before the headliners, with a few couples shaking their respective 'groove thangs' on the dance floor of Plush Night Club in St. Louis.
The big band grand finale came in true big band fashion with singer/songwriter Matt Klose leading a 7-piece troop. With Matt on rhythm guitar, the group kept the energy up the rest of the night before exiting to a standing ovation. Check out Matt Klose on Facebook for any upcoming shows or projects!!
Finally, as a courtesy to anyone that actually does read my articles, I regret to inform you that I will be closing my account very soon. Yes, this is my last post as a St. Louis Music buzz Examiner. The responsibility has long become too great with my many other duties. And so... I bid you farewell.
I'll leave this article up for a while, but when it has run it's course, I'll be closing my account. It's been a great run! I've seen some great shows and met some very cool people as a result of writing, but I'll see you all again in other capacities in the future.
