Master Pilates trainer Joshua Smith takes it up a notch in new DVD (Video)

Pilates Sports Center and Master Trainer Joshua Smith raises the bar in his new DVD, “Pilates High Intensity Interval Training – PHIIT”. Joshua, alongside fellow Los Angeles trainer Kelly Newkirk, created a challenging but fun workout that can be done in the comfort and privacy of the home.

With a a mixed program of Pilates exercises that includes eight simple yet key moves, the viewer will not just want to sit and watch, but actually want to participate with the DVD in order to unlock a whole new appearance that has secretly been hiding behind that carton of ice cream. Any Pilates student following this DVD will be able to work out at their desired level as the trainers demonstrate different levels of intensity. Beginners can follow Kelly for those easier moves. This DVD, considered an intermediate level workout, will help reduce body fat while building those long lean muscles that everyone wants.

Joshua Smith, Master Trainer, teacher and staff Member at the Encino, Calif. based Pilates Sports Center, is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Living in Los Angeles since 1998, Joshua has worked as a choreographer, professional dancer and teacher. His wife Emily convinced him to start doing Pilates with her years ago. The benefits provided by the program – increased flexibility, stronger core and the mind/body connection was a perfect match to Joshua’s athleticism. The Pilates Sports Center offers a Teacher Training Program, and Joshua Smith is one of the instructors.

Kelly Newkirk, former Cirque du Soleil performer, is a world class fitness trainer with a loyal fan base in the Los Angeles area. An incredibly well-rounded trainer, she is capable of talking and instructing everything from Pilates to diet to stress reduction. Kelly owns a private Pilates studio in Woodland Hills, Calif., where she is currently accepting applications for new clients.
