Masi, Masianco Pinot Grigio e Verduzzo delle Venezie IGT 2012 is a project Masi started in 1964. Dubbed a “Super Veneto” for using native grapes but using a special technique to make this wine special. They vilify separately about 75% Pinot Grigio and 25%Verduzzo, which is picked when the grapes have reached maximum sugar levels and then allowed to slightly raisinate in the wineries attic to increase their sugar level. They are blended to make an exceptional and unique wine.
The 2012 Masi, Masianco is golden yellow in the glass. It has aromas of lemon and peach with wildflowers and honey. The full mouth feel of the palate is filled with a citrus tang with loads of minerals with slight peach notes with a hint of sweetness on the finish. This full-bodied white is very satisfying with a medium dry finish with a hint of sweetness.
The Masi, Masianco is great as an apperitivo or with lighter seafood preparations or even a nice salumi and cheese platter.
