Tuesday night found Mamma Mia! kicking off at the Fisher Theatre for its sixth run in Detroit.

The smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA will be playing at the Fisher Theatre until November 10.

Seen by over 50 million people around the world, Mamma Mia! is celebrating over 4,000 performances in its twelfth hit year on Broadway.

The musical is the ultimate feel good show that keeps audiences coming back again and again.

Mamma Mia! tells the tale of soon to be bride, Sophie and her search for the father she has never known in hopes that he will walk her down the aisle.

After reading her mother Donna's diary, Sophie invites three men from her mother's past to the Greek island where Sophie's marriage is taking place and where all three men originally met Donna.

Once the men arrive at the island things will never be the same for all involved.

Mamma Mia!'s energetic journey through heartbreak, love and laughter is fun for all ages and the telling of the story through ABBA's timeless music brings the whole thing together from "Dancing Queen" and "S.O.S." to "Money, Money, Money" and "Take a Chance on Me".

Georgia Kate Haege (Donna Sheridan) and Chelsea Williams(Sophie Sheridan) lead the Fisher's current run as mother and daughter.

The chemistry between the two sets the tone for the entire production as well as their interplay with leading men , Michael Colavolpe, Mark A. Harmon, and Don Winsor, as Bill, Harry, and Sam respectively.

Colavolpe, Harmon and Winsor's perfect grasp of their characters and their idiosyncrasies keeps things rolling.

However, it is Donna's friends, Tayna and Rosie, played by Gabrielle Mirabella and Carly Sakolove who truly steal the show with their comedic timing and over-the-top exuberance.

Mama Mia! is truly one musical that should not be missed.

Tickets for the current run range from $30-$76 and are on sale at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 1-800-982-2787, online at ticketmaster.com or www.broadwayindetroit.com and at the Fisher Theatre box office.
