Malaysia's FoCheezy Juicy Hood burger at Lolo's Chicken & Waffles in Scottsdale

With people lingering outside while waiting to get some of the best soul food in the Phoenix area I noticed and was surprised by the fact that Lolo's Chicken and Waffles http://loloschickenandwaffles.com/ had a burger on the menu as I did not recall seeing it on previous visits.

I took advantage of this opportunity to get my burger groove on with Malaysia's FoCheezy Juicy Hood burger ($12). Served in a basket, both sides of the bun are spread with a choice of mayo, 1000 Island dressing or Ranch dressing. I went with the 1000 Island and this flat top cooked burger comes topped with 2 strips of Applewood smoked bacon Cheddar and Pepperjack cheese along with grilled onions. The top of the bun is garnished with Bibb lettuce and sliced tear drop tomatoes which I found interesting choice. This burger was a good burger but not $12 good as it seemed a bit smaller than other burgers for the price. Tasting good and greasy from the flat top cooking and onions it did offer nice flavors when combined with the bacon and cheese's. Fries are available for an extra $2 and were served as a bed for the burger for in the basket. Although a generous portion of fries are served, some are seasoned with spices and many of the fries were inconsistently cooked leaving them less than crunchy.

Many people in & out of the hood like a good burger but I don't know many that like to pay almost $14++ for a smaller than usual burger & lackluster fries, but then again it's not named Lolo's Burgers but Lolo's Chicken and Waffles.

Lolo's has 2 locations, in Scottsdale at 2765 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale 85257 (480)945-1920 & in Phoenix at 1220 S. Central Ave. 85003 (602)340-1304. Hours are Mon.- Sat. 9a.m.- 9 p.m. (Scottsdale location stays open later on Fri) and Sun. 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
