Never before have I ever used a powder foundation that has such a natural look! Jane Iredale PurePressed Base covers minor imperfections very well on its own, and has an amazing natural finish over Jane Iredale Disappear Concealer.
At my worst, Jane Iredale PurePressed Base couldn’t hide my redness entirely. However, my skin condition was so severe that I really can’t expect any powder foundation to be able to do so. If there is such a powder that exists, I’d like to know.
What counts is that Jane Iredale gives you an insanely natural look while keeping your skin healthy. While I’ve never had a problem with creases, my skin is so much clearer and so less red since the switch to mineral makeup.
The PurePressed Base is very water resistant, as I can tell when I wash it off at night or when I sweat a lot during the day. It is difficult to remove, which I say is a good thing. I don’t want makeup slipping off my face!
Another plus is that Jane Iredale PurePressed Base provides sun protection of SPF 20. Living in Washington State, SPF 20 seems to be enough protection for most of the year.
My application technique continues to evolve, but I’ll go over my current two-step process to get my most natural look.
How I apply my powder foundation over my concealer:
- Brushing lightly over my entire face, including my eyelids and down to my neck, I apply my Jane Iredale PurePressed Base with a fan-shaped brush. This gives my face the same overall tint, so that heavy coverage in selected areas won’t look as obvious.
- Patting the areas that require heaviest coverage with the powder foundation on a flat-ended brush, I keep layering until I realize that’s as good as it’s going to get.
Unless I choose to apply bronzer or blush, I’m good to go! The shade of PurePressed Base I use is called Bisque, and it is so light that applying a secondary, darker color to add dimension to my face is necessary. If I don’t apply blush or bronzer, my face looks flat, boring, and huge in photographs.
Overall, in my opinion Jane Iredale has the best makeup for acne! After over a year of use, my skin is much, much clearer. I couldn’t have done it without you, Jane Iredale.
Jane Iredale PurePressed Base SPF 20 is $52.00 on the Jane Iredale website, where you can find information about more makeup for acne and other products.
