Magneto #1

Magneto, Erik, Max, Magnus, all names he has gone by in the past. Magneto made his 1st appearance in X-Men #1 in 1963. He has long been a villain of the X Men and at times has even worked side by side with them. Magneto was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. He has the power to manipulate electromagnetic fields. He has, in his words, Lived among stars, ruled jungle kingdoms, and guided entire nations. Now we find him slumming it in motels and flying under the radar. Magneto has decided to go off on his own and fight for the mutant race by taking out people who have already harmed mutants.
We start this new series written by Collen Bunn, with Magneto in a motel, a far cry from the huge mansion he is used to. He is a little paranoid and trying to avoid S.H.I.E.L.D, who is planting fake crimes trying to catch him in the act. And just because he is now laying low doesn't mean it's not the same ol' Magneto we have grown to love and hate. We are left hanging at the end when he walks into a packed police station and does what Magneto does best, you know, makes a huge scene complete with flying metal of course. The writing gives us a look inside Magnetos head and the art work is grim and gruesome. I really loved the way the artist had Magneto assumable his helmet. The death scene and the ending where defiantly the best parts.
I am looking forward to see where this now "under the radar" Magneto goes next. I see it being a little hard to hide from S.H.I.E.L.D now that he has caused such a huge scene.
