We all of the if the exciting beers being brewed today in America’s craft beer scene it is hard to find a beer not too love. The other day I found one. Magic Hat’s flagship brew #9, Not Quite Pale Ale, Burlington, VT, 5.1abv.
It pours a nice bright orange color with a creamy white head. The nose is full of orange, apricot and cloves with a slight hint of floral hops. The palate is hit up front with the fruits found on the nose along with baking spices with a sweet medium finished. There is some kind of bitterness as well at the finish that leaves some unpleasantness. That finish and the beers sweetness were off putting to me. If you enjoy a little sweet in your beer, give this brew a try.
