Heading south from O’Neals, CA, is a relaxing, scenic drive to Friant, CA. Fäsi Estate Winery rises up from the countryside with the view of beautiful green, rolling hills. The winery itself is very open and has a nice flow. The tasting room is beautiful with dark oak paneling.
Crest Sierra Gold 2010 is a combination of Rousanne, Viognier, Marsanne, and Grenache Noir from Love Ranch in Madera County. Tasting notes: little on the sour side but mellows out with goat cheese and strawberry preserves. Suggested pairing: roasted chicken, salmon, pasta, or shellfish.
2005/2007 Fäsi Crest Syrah has a hint of cassis with a delightfully fruity finish that lingers on the palate. Tasting notes: medium body, fruity nose, good balance of fruit, oak, and acid, black pepper finish.
2011 Fäsi Crest Malbec is a bright medium red-ruby with lovely floral aromas of blackberry and licorice. Tasting notes: medium body, clean. Suggested pairing: Bolognese pasta.
2008 Fäsi Crest Sweet Syrah consists of a seamless balance of fruit and alcohol. Tasting notes: a little too dry, sweet at the front end (honey blackberry flavor) but quickly disappears. Suggested pairing: Cream Cheese, Strawberries, and Fresh Basil Pizza from Mattie’s Wood Fired Pizza.
Relax with a glass of wine, put your feet up and enjoy the scenery at Fäsi Estate Winery
