Zac Posen's collections are always fresh, sophisticated, and made for the every day woman. The fashion designer's Spring 2014 Ready-To-Wear collection was no different, as he unveiled it yesterday afternoon in downtown showroom in New York. Posen is one of the many designers who kicked off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, which officially began today. Although Posen was inspired greatly by Asian and Oriental textiles he has collected over time, he boasted that every piece of his collection was made in America. This statement worked best to describe the all-American style the collection consisted of.
The Spring collection consisted of pieces that were true ready-to-wear staples. As Posen stated, there was indeed something for everyone in the collection, from dresses and skirts, to suits and blouses. Sunny hues of bright yellow danced across the collection in beautiful form fitting dresses and ruffled blouses. Sun dresses that hug the body in a flattering way gave off the perfect vibe of Spring and Summer. Posen incorporated snake skin print into the collection as well to add a little edge to the dainty style of the pieces. A standout was the cropped snakeskin bustier that was paired with high waist flare pants. Another standout included the black leather peplum jacket that was belted and paired with a yellow print skirt. The prints and colors paired with the cuts of the seperates gave the collection the timeless sophistication that a collection needs to remain a favorite among fashionistas everywhere.
