If you’re angry about Phil Robertson’s suspension by A&E, you could boycott the network. You could write letters to the advertisers on A&E expressing your anger. Or, you could show your support for Phil and the Robertsons by buying “Duck the Halls” the Christmas CD.

I suggest you do the latter.

“Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas” is a great way to treat yourself to some super Christmas music while demonstrating your own personal views.

I bought the CD as a novelty back in November. I expected some corny jokes and some mediocre singing, and to be honest, a few of the tunes fit that description. “Hairy Christmas” and “Duck the Halls” are two examples.

But I was happily surprised by most of the songs. Missy Robertson’s voice soars on this CD. A combination of Celine Dion and Karen Carpenter, her vocals are beautiful on three songs. “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” is a soulful solo tune. “Why I Love Christmas” with Josh Turner expresses her reason for celebrating the season. On “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” she teams up with her husband, Jase, and although he speaks most of his lines, Missy carries the song.

A number of the Robertson children are also featured on this CD. Sadie Robertson has two fine performances. She sings with Grammy Award Winner Alison Krauss on “Away in a Manger” and she also does a fine job on “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Reed Robertson, Missy’s son, performs a touching solo about a soldier spending Christmas away from his family on “Camouflage and Christmas Lights.”

Obviously, I’m not the only one who likes the CD. The CD has been on the Billboard Country Charts for seven weeks, and back in November it peaked as the number one Country CD. It has remained at the number two spot for two weeks now.

With the support of professional singers George Strait, Luke Bryan, and others, this CD is a combination of super singing and holiday spirit. If you haven't finished your Christmas shopping, it would make a great last minute Christmas gift for yourself or your loved ones. At the same time, you can let your opinion be heard by A&E by supporting the Robertsons without getting angry and upset.
