Federale Agent Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo) is wanting to capture Drug Kingpin Rogelio Torrez (Steven Seagal). He and his partner simply drive in to Torrez's compound and takes on the whole gang. With his partner dead and himself lying on the floor bleeding Machete is about to be burned alive.
Three years later we see Machete working day labor in Texas. He is spotted by a man by the name of Michael Booth (Jeff Fahey). Booth wants Senator John McLaughlin (Robert DeNiro) shot and killed at a rally. You see the Senator is talking bad on immigration and Mexicans coming across the border. The Senator also likes to go hunting Mexican with his friend Von Jackson (Don Johnson) and shoot illegals for sport. He picks up Machete and talks to him about the plan. Machete say he is in and takes the money.
At the rally Machete gets ready for the shot when someone shoots him. Then that same person shoots the Senator in the leg, not to kill him but to make it look like a Mexican shot him. All this is being orchestrated by Torrez.
McLaughlin uses the shooting for his run for the Senate. Von Jackson wants Machete for supposedly shooting his friend the Senator. Michael Booth wants Machete for kidnapping his daughter. Torrez wants Machete because he knows much of his drug empire. Machete has an ally with ICE Agent Santana (Jessica Alba) . He also has the help of an ex-federale now priest . Padre (Cheech Marin) still keeps tabs on things .
Okay, bottom line, in the first minute of the movie you see about a dozen heads cut off. This has more action scenes thanj it will ever possibly need. Machete lays just about every girl involved in the movie. The drug and Mexican story line is simply just a load of crap. Director's Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez have a great cast but what a waste of time. Are these people just in need of money or what. You want to waste your own time and money, go ahead. I'm writing this even though I haven't yet seen the new 'Machete Kills' but if it is anything like this don't waste your time.
