The MAC for Daphne Guinness collection was one of the highly-anticipated collections of 2011, and it was released the day after Christmas on December 26. Daphne Guinness is an heiress and a fashion icon. When fans of both Daphne Guinness and MAC Cosmetics became aware that this collection would be launched, it instantly became eagerly awaited. The collection features two limited edition blush ombres, an eyeshadow quad, three limited edition pigments, and much more.
The products that were reviewed are the two blush ombres, two pigments and the eyeshadow quad. Azalea Blossom is described as a light cool pink, and Vintage Grape is described as mid-tone violet pink. Both blush ombres retail for $26.00. These two blushes are repromotes as they were released in a previous collection. The shades are very pigmented, and one can build up the color to the desired opacity.
The Interior Life eyeshadow quad is one of the most anticipated items in the collection, and the quad consists of four limited edition shades. The shades featured are Stratus which is a light pink with a matte finish, Interior Life which is a mid-tone grey blue and has a veluxe finish. Also included are Bruised Sky which is a dark lavender grey with a satin finish, and Heather Belles which is dark charcoal/carbon with a satin finish. The quad retails for $38.00.
There are three limited edition pigments released in the collection, two of them have been reviewed which are Aurora which is described as a pinked taupe and Nebula which is a dark grayed brown with pearl. Both pigments have a frost finish. The pigments retail for $20.00.
