Started twenty two years ago in St. Louis / Minneapolis, Minnesota, White Castle owners came up with the idea to celebrate Valentine's Day and offer a romantic moment with heart-shape red balloons, red table covers, red roses (See a pattern) and their employees portraying as waiters and runners. Both the White Castle corporation and their beloved burger fans became enchanted with this marketing idea and has been a traditional event honoring February 14th - Valentine's Day ever since. A place to bring your wife or husband, boyfriend or girlfriend on a special first date and be astonished as the dining room area is transformed into a realm of romance and fast-dining. As the smell of steamed cooked burgers bring an ambiance to the establishment, the sounds of sizzling cooked onion ring or french fries, soaked in cooking oil are served with diced onions, pickles and burger to bring the classic White Castle burger combo. With orders of burgers, onion rings, french fries are packaged neatly in their famous little boxes, hungry guests wait patiently, in anticipation, for a chance to sink their teeth in those delicious burgers for consumption. And to wash it down, ice cold soft drinks, in large economy cups, keep a customer's thirst quenched.
Many who came tonight, some were barely a year old while some remember burgers once cost ten cents enjoyed eating at the “Love Castle.” A wonderful promotion to appreciate a good meal but also share an evening many will not soon forget. While restaurants raise their prices this night to meet their profit margins, the Love Castle prices remains the same to accommodate thrifty guests.
